so you want more BASS from your speakers ? if like me you use a house stereo to blear them tunes out so your nabour can enjoy your music too ;-)
here im going to tell you some different ways in which to get more bass in your life without spending that hard earned cash! its up2 you which one you think you need :-)
i also have a 5,1 20w surround system for my pc witch i only use to watch films and the stereo for the loud stuff well thats just my setup eneyway.
the bigger the speaker you do this mod on the better! saying that even the smallest of speakers this mod defiantly adds that more needed punch of bass were looking for from this mod. as i made this mod up there is no name for it so i'm going to call it the CLOTH MOD!
First ov all we need to no how subs work and what types of subs there are and what type of sound you are looking for? and weather your using a subwoofer or making one with my mod (cloth mod)
so ported subwoofer.. what makes it a ported subwoofer? maybe because it has ports? hehe you cant just put a subwoofer into a box add some holes and you have yourself a ported subwoofer! the size of the box it critical get it wrong and you will end up with no bass! just a nice breeze of fresh air coming out of the ports instead of what we want BASS!
WHAT SOUND DO I GET WITH A ported subwoofer?
ever had a so called boy-racer driving down the street coming to wards you and at a distance you here the bass really deep and loud? then when he drives past you there is no bass well not as loud as it was from a distance?
well thats 1 thing a ported sub dos. long distance! also the sound of the bass from a ported sub is really how i describe as long deep bass notes but no PUNCHY bass
WHAT TYPE OF MUSIC IS GOOD FOR ported subwoofers?
every kind! ported subs ARE used on most fare priced pc speaker systems
to please the most majority of customers.
CAN THE CLOTH MOD BE USED FOR A PORTED SUBWOOFER?
simply NO!
HOW dos a ported subwoofer work?
ok so its a box with a hole in and a sub in the box
the air and size of the box needs to be the write size for the sub!
and the ports need to be the write size for the sub too!
as the beat of the music is pumping though the sub.the sub pushes the air inside the box OUT the ports and as the sub fights to push that air out the ports it makes long distance bass perfect!
making one of there is harder than the other mods i have on this page but if this is what you want you wont be disapointed!

in my opinion the best! why? because its hard puntchy bass! if you cant here the bass from a distance you need to be closer or get more power!
HOW IT WORKS?
the sub fights the air inside the box! the sub struggles to fight the air as the sub tries to move making bass! and wow does it make bass! you stand next to one of these using a 15 inch sub and some serious power and you will move out the way due to the ringing sound in your ears hehe. there the bad boys of all subs! again the size of the box and the sub AND the amount of air inside will affect bass quality BUT! if its not punchy enough for you ! put some padding inside the box say half full ( insides of a old pillow works grate! if the bass int puntchy enuf fill more til you are happy unlike a ported subwoofer you get the size wrong you will have to re build the box!
WHAT MUSIC PLAYS BEST ON THEM?
DANCE ! R&B TECNO anything which has separate beats all you classic romantic lovers i recommend a ported sub :-) this is the type DJ's use in them cubs :-P
CAN I USE THE cloth mod with this? YES!
IF USING A NORMAL SPEAKER IF YOU USE A ACTUAL SUB THERE IS NO NEED
so you have a normal house speaker ( am doing this mod on my house stereo
to get more bass from them i wont be making a box! just adding the mod to my stereo
ok so here we have one of my speakers both speakers are NOT subs! also there is a tweeter on the box (tweeters are for the voice sound and other sound except for bass! thats one thing a tweeter will not produce!
a speaker and a tweeter is a GOOD mix a nice balance but a sub and a tweeter is even better! so lets get more bass out of these speakers.get them acting more like a sub :-)
so get the screw driver out and open the speaker box
you will need some material i used an old t-shirt
cut a piece out just abit bigger than the speaker
next stretch the t shirt bit you just cut out over the back of the speaker! and somehow fit it like that i just out the material over the hole in my speaker box stretch it over the hole not to tight over the hole so as i pushed the speaker back into the box it pushed over ALL of the back of the speaker then screwed in.might be a big push to get the speaker in but thats what you want!
by doing this the speaker will fight against the material making the speaker work harder (back pressure) and making more BASS also filling the speaker box half full of wodding ( bits out of a old bed pillow helps!) i added two layers over my speakers and i defiantly noticed a big difference in bass quality! who ever tries this and listens to the bass after this mod will be thinking..no way! just by doing that i have more bass. its unbalivabble! (i will be waiting for you thank you's on comment board ;-) hehe
also i did this mod 3 years ago and at east once a day blasting the bass out and its never failed about time i shared :-)
