how did i become interasted in pc's?
well about 5 years ago someone i new was working in a computer repair shop and as the shop was closing down everything was up for grabs (free giveaway REALLY!! anyway most of it found its way at my place . since i was 12 iv bin messing around with electrical stuff to led circuits to electric shock door handle ( my perfect idea of a bedroom door alarm lol) so i had boxes and boxes of all this stuff.after about a week slotting boards after boards into slots that seemed to fit in and a big puff of smoke 2 weeks later lol i got some books from the library and started reading up. second try with some knowledge it terns out i had 24 motherboards socket a/9 ddr memory sticks/sound cards and so on. one new harddrive later and windows xp cd i was up and running.(excluding all the fault finding.) Now what.well it was running slow..really slow why?next was performance upgrading.as my free stuff was like 7 years out dated i had to actelly spend money BUT as i was confident of what i was doing by now i had the confidence to go out and spend.so i have an up to date FAST pc what next? customization.leds/fans/coolers/pc cases/keyboards/ the list is endless! purchased a case i liked and modified that to my taste.now what? software! as everyone will end up with spywear/virus problems i was not left out yes i new how to build a top performance pc but software? NO after joining forums after forums and asking for help you soon pick up the best tools to use and the little tips and tricks. if you no how exactly spywear/viruses work you can figure out yourself on how to solve the problem and find ways to protect yourself from it.weather its software you use or how about viruses cant even run on your pc even if you download them and run them.so by now i have a pc which i can build/upgrade/fix/customize/protect from spywear/viruses. in the end i learnt as we all figure out is BACKUPS! & WINDOWS REPAIR. there is loads of ways you can make backups weather its third party software or using what you already have..windows components. i try everything in the end you pick up on what works best.and meets your needs. so am at the point am at now.writing this.what now? well am stil doing all that.why? because i have cort the BUG! and i love it its funny how things tern out. i now spend most of my free time on forums helping others mainly spyware/virus related and fixing friends and family's computers.but i never stop learning. was looky to come across this this hobby ..yess i class it as a hobby would love to tern it into a job thought its harder than learning everything pc! lol i recommend this (hobby)to everyone! it can get very addicted you do find bits of it you like more than others my number one has to be the build second is customization.5 years on and am still finding new interasting things i never new to do..like making your own customized windows cd ! integrating your favorite programs taking out windows components you don't use to make window run faster.most of you if not all of you who are reading this will have the pc bug like me and god we love to help others dont we.well most of us do ;-) i remember one time i was in a computer shop browsing around and a women come into the shop with a laptop and said ( got a virus or something i keep getting popups can you fix it ?) the man at the counter said ( its this virus going around we will need to do a re install ov windows that will be £100!and said she will need Norton installing an extra £50 and £50 one every year!( the lady left the shop and said will come back when she has the money!) yep i no what your thinking! outrages!!! i couldent believe it and that was from a well known company (cant say the company's name as they might do me for slander or summits lol.anyway i chased the lady down the street and basically give her some advice like (how dos he no its the so called virus thats going around he hasent even looked at the laptop? she was embarrassed ( o year lol he must be a sykick or something lol her words) told her there is a good FREE anti virus program on the internet and advised her to get quotes from all local computer shops for a re install to get the best price.in the end i looked at it and it was only spyware.. removed it and all was well.which brings me to think.just how much money we save!company's over charge big time on non teck people as that story's a classic! anyway thanks for reading and don't four get to rate my site and stay safe online :-) pete
